My Approach
I work with older teens and adults in Idaho, Wyoming, and Utah navigating anxiety-related concerns such as generalized anxiety, panic disorder, social anxiety, health anxiety, phobias, obsessive-compulsive disorder (OCD), and insomnia. I also work with parents and caregivers seeking to support their anxious children and teens through parent coaching. Through evidence-based treatment, I help clients develop greater self-awareness, confidence, and resilience.
My style is warm and collaborative, grounded in curiosity and respect for each client’s strengths, values, and lived experience. With over 25 years of experience teaching movement-based practices and outdoor sports in rural mountain communities, I bring a whole-person perspective to therapy, combining practical strategies and steady support to help clients feel more confident navigating life’s challenges.
Education, Training, & Professional Memberships
I earned my Master of Social Work from Boston University with a specialization in clinical mental health, and my expertise has been deepened through extensive post-graduate training. Typically, I draw from cognitive-behavioral therapy (CBT), acceptance and commitment therapy (ACT), and psychodynamic therapy to help clients understand the origins of difficult patterns, challenge what keeps them stuck, and move toward meaningful change.
I bring specialized training for specific challenges that require more targeted treatment, including:
Exposure and response prevention (ERP)—The gold-standard treatment for OCD, helping clients break free from intrusive thoughts and compulsive behaviors.
Cognitive Processing Therapy (CPT) – A first-line treatment for PTSD. I also stay current with emerging research on body-based interventions, which show promise as adjunctive approaches for trauma.
CBT for Insomnia (CBT-I) – The gold standard treatment for insomnia. I completed basic training with Drs. Perlis and Posner at the University of Pennsylvania's Perelman School of Medicine, and I am enrolled in advanced training for Spring 2026.
SPACE (Supportive Parenting for Anxious Childhood Emotions) – A parent-focused intervention developed by Dr. Eli Lebowitz at Yale's Child Study Center. SPACE empowers caregivers to effectively support their child or teen struggling with anxiety and OCD without requiring the child to be in therapy.
I am an active member of the Anxiety and Depression Association of America (ADAA), the International OCD Foundation (IOCDF), the Association for Contextual Behavioral Science (ACBS), and the National Association of Social Workers (NASW). As a lifelong learner committed to quality client care, I engage in continuing education, peer consultation, and mentor supervision weekly with leading experts in the field.
